Hindalco RPD has various initiatives to maintain the environment and protect its resources. Fly-ash is diverted for cement manufacturing, 100% utilization of STP sludge as soil conditioner recycling of used lube oil, 100% recycling of process and waste water. RPD also uses Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under Kyoto Protocol to identify and implement projects to bring down Green House Gas emissions. RPD prides itself in maintaining an enviable record of harmonious industrial relations, with not a single man-day lost for the past 18 years on account of industrial strike. It has been able to bring together 3 recognised trade unions with different affiliations to work for a common goal of achieving RPD's vision, mission and objectives.
